What do you get when you combine a love for teaching, a passion for creativity and a desire for connection? ‘Creative Connections Workshops’, that’s what!
I am so excited to be getting back into facilitating creative workshops this year after having a break for the past couple of years. This time I am returning with a renewed purpose for the workshops after connecting with so many inspiring people in 2018.
On reflection, I recognised that my favourite part of conducting workshops in the past was seeing people realise they were more creative than they gave themselves credit for. I loved the sense of pride they achieved when they finished the workshop and had created something special for themselves or to gift to someone else. Created with their own hands, from a place within themselves.
‘Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.’– Pablo Picasso
The focus for Creative Connections Workshops is on giving people the opportunity to rediscover their creativity that they haven’t given credence to for a while or for some, perhaps since childhood. Participants will learn art and craft skills in a safe environment, free from judgment. The experience is about the process not the product…but its amazing what people walk away with at the end of the workshops!
The Creative Connections Workshops cater for people with all levels of skill to explore their creativity and connect with others in the process. So many people these days are craving connection. Whether it’s parents who are spending a lot of time at home with small children, people who want to find others with similar hobbies, or friends who are looking for an excuse to hang out, the Creative Connections Workshops will bring people together.
‘Art allows us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time’– Thomas Merton
In 2019, I will be offering a range of workshops including, but not exclusive to, painting, weaving, polymer clay jewellery and decorative crosses, with plenty more in the pipe lines. The Creative Connections Workshops will be conducted in various locations across the Mornington Peninsula and will be accompanied by local food + beverages.
I hope to see you at a workshop soon!
